HCA MEDICAL DATA ANALYST:

This Medical Data Analyst program is designed to deliver knowledge in medical insurance processes and procedures, healthcare record-keeping, analytic and investigatory techniques, evaluation methods, field operations methods, and related software applications. Upon completion of this program, the student among other items would able to:

  • Define the medical insurance processes and procedures, basic anatomy and physiology, healthcare laws and ethics, and record-keeping,
  • Explain the analytical and evaluative processes, including medical insurance operations and regulation,
  • Summarize the basic clinical terms, the reimbursement methods, and the various basic information systems used in healthcare,
  • Outline the basic healthcare improvement concepts, and the methods for improving efficiency and effectiveness,
  • Describe how to use the proper diagnostic and procedure coding,
  • Explain how to correct a rejected claim, work with a clearinghouse, and appeal a rejected claim.

EDUCATION & JOB EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to use Microsoft Windows
  • Ability to work with a computer
