STUDENT COMPLAINT POLICY

Joshua Career Institute is approved by Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). Institutions including JCI do not promise employment to students. Students must address their concerns about the school or any of its educational programs by following the grievance process outlined in the school's catalog. If, as a student, you were not provided with this information, please contact school management immediately. If, as a student, you are dissatisfied with the school's response to your concern, you may file a formal complaint with TWC. Information on filing a complaint with TWC can be found at http://csc.twc.state.tx.us.

CREDIT TRANSFER

Each school has independent decision policy concerning credit transfer on a course-by-course basis. They look at course depth, currency, and longevity to make their determination. Joshua Career Institute does not guarantee your credit transfer. Please contact the prospective school for credit transfer before enrollment.

NON DISCRIMINATION POLICY

Joshua Career Institute does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national or ethnic origin, disability, age or veteran status in admissions, treatment or access to its programs and activities, or in the administration of educational policies, scholarships, loan programs, or other JCI’s programs. REFUND POLICY

Cancellation

A full 100% refund will be made to any student who cancels the enrollment contract within 72 hours after the enrollment contract is signed or within the student’s first three scheduled class days. The request must be received by Joshua in writing within the program duration by e-mail or by registered mail before the deadline.

A full refund of all tuition and fees is due and refundable in each of the following cases:

(a) An enrollee is not accepted by the school;

(b) If the course of instruction is discontinued by the school and this prevents the student from completing the course.

Withdraw

A full refund will be made to any student who withdraws within the first two calendar weeks and all refunds must be made by the student in writing.

(a) A pro rata refund of tuition charges will be made to a student who terminates from their program or courses after the first two calendar weeks in an amount that is not less than ninety-five percent of the amount of tuition charged to the student multiplied by the ratio of the number of calendar days remaining in the school period to the total number of calendar days in the school period. No refunds will be made to any student who has completed sixty percent or more of a school period.

(b) Charges are either on equal monthly payments made at the end of each month, prorated by program duration, or if requested by the student full amount charged after the start of the program. Refund calculation is based on the amount charged.

(c) Exceptional Refund Policy: The exceptional refund policy applies when a student terminates their program after the first two calendar weeks due to the student’s physical incapacity or, for a program that requires classroom instruction, due to the transfer of the student’s spouse’s employment to another city. The terminating student will receive a refund of the tuition charges in an amount that equals the amount of tuition charged to the student multiplied by the ratio of the remaining number of calendar days in the school period to the total number of calendar days in the school period.

(d) A refund of tuition charges will be provided to any student within forty-five days following the date of the school’s determination that a student has terminated from their program and upon request from the student in writing.

(e) A fee or other monetary penalty will not be charged to any student for terminating their program, other than a reduction in tuition refund as specified above.
