TCH COMPTIA SPECIALIST:
This CompTIA Specialist program is designed to gain understanding in technical assistance and support, advice to computer users to help troubleshoot software and hardware problems, assess the security needs of computer and network systems, recommend safeguard solutions, and manage the implementation and maintenance of security devices, systems, and procedures. Upon completion of this program, the student among other items would able to:
- Distinguish between common motherboard form factors and explain the functions of key motherboard components, the memory slot types, and the bus architecture functions,
- Describe the function of processor sockets and slots, CPU types and components, ways to reduce the heat generated by CPUs, and the different types of RAM,
- Outline and explain the DEFRAG and NTBACKUP, disk management commands, basic disk to a dynamic disk, using the Disk Management tool, and how to use Performance Monitor to monitor a system,
- Distinguish between LAN topologies and WAN topologies, between centralized and decentralized networks, and between the key networks,
- Explain the basic features and characteristics of key Ethernet technologies, transmission flaws associated with analog and digital signals, factors that affect transmission,
- Describe circuit switching works, packet switching works, the capabilities of WAN transmission media and the basic WAN transmission.

- Ability to use Microsoft Windows
- Ability to work with a computer
