PLS CRIMINAL JUSTICE ASSOCIATE:

This Criminal Justice Associate program is designed to gain understanding in law enforcement history and theory, operational command leadership, administration of public police organizations, and incident response strategies. Upon completion of this program, the student among other items would able to:

  • Define criminal justice and discuss the due process and individual rights; special categories of crimes; and the purpose, types, and categories of laws,
  • Discuss the purpose and organization of the police, legal aspects of policing, and the issues and challenges the police face,
  • Explain the basic concepts in corrections, penology, and the ethical issues involved,
  • Discuss the correctional ideologies from a historical perspective including probation and parole systems,
  • Describe the legal and behavior aspects of a crime and discuss the difference between crime and deviance.

EDUCATION & JOB EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to use Microsoft Windows
  • Ability to work with a computer
