COURSE NAME: ACT210 Accounting Fundamentals Certification
Course Description (Detailed Syllabus is released upon registration)
Students will learn certification concepts and fundamentals of accounting and bookkeeping. Upon completion of this course students will be able to: 1) explain the language of business, analyze business transactions, and T accounts, 2) describe and evaluate general journal, journal entries, adjusting entries, and general ledger, 3) explain adjustment, closing entries, and trial balance, 4) discuss accounting for sales, receivables, and cash receipts, 5) explain and analyze purchases accounts payable, cash payments, cash reconciliations, payroll computation and payment, related payroll taxes, including deposits, and payroll reports, and 6) prepare, analyze accruals, deferrals, financial statements including income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows.
Prerequisites
Joshua’s Accounting Clerk, Accounting Specialist, or Bookkeeping Specialist programs

Course Grading and Policies
Points from: Lessons, Assignments, Tests, Classroom Discussion, and Course Portfolio are factors in grade point calculation.
A = 90% – 100%, B = 80% – 89%, C = 70% – 79%, D = 60% – 69%, F = 59% and Below.

Award Upon Completion
The student will receive 3 Credit Hours upon completion of this course.
