COURSE NAME: ACT240 Accounting Principles Certification
Course Description (Detailed Syllabus is released upon registration)
Students will learn concepts and principles of accounting and bookkeeping. Upon completion of this course students will be able to: 1) explain accounting principles and reporting standards, general journals, account ledgers and T accounts, 2) describe sales cycle, cash receipts, accounts receivable, notes receivable, aging, and uncollectible accounts, journal entries, adjusting entries, and general ledger, 3) explain adjustment, closing entries, and trial balance, 4) discuss accounting for sales receivables, cash receipts, accounts receivables, and merchandize inventory, purchases, accounts payable, notes payable, 5) explain and analyze property, plant, and equipment including depreciation, corporation, corporate earnings, capital transactions, and long term debt, and 6) prepare, analyze accruals, deferrals, financial statements including income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows.
Prerequisites
Joshua’s Accounting Clerk, Accounting Specialist, or Bookkeeping Specialist programs

Points from: Lessons, Assignments, Tests, Classroom Discussion, and Course Portfolio are factors in grade point calculation.
A = 90% – 100%, B = 80% – 89%, C = 70% – 79%, D = 60% – 69%, F = 59% and Below.

Award Upon Completion
The student will receive 3 Credit Hours upon completion of this course.
