COURSE NAME:  LAW116 Criminal Justice Ethics

Course Description (Detailed Syllabus is released upon registration)

Students will learn the essentials of Criminal Justice Ethics.  Upon completion of this course students will be able to: 1) explain of the concept of Justice, and explain the difference between morals and ethics, 2) discuss various ethical issues that challenge legal professionals that include criminal defense attorneys and prosecutors and the dilemmas faced by the law enforcement, 3) outline the need for ethical leaders due to corruption within the criminal justice system and types of police corruption, and 4) describe the ethics of punishment and corrections, the rationales for punishment, and the ethical frameworks for corrections.

Points from:  Lessons, Assignments, Tests, Classroom Discussion, and Course Portfolio are factors in grade point calculation.

A = 90% – 100%, B = 80% – 89%, C = 70% – 79%, D = 60% – 69%, F = 59% and Below.

Late Assignment Policy: If unable to complete assignments or tests on time, please contact your instructor before the due date.Assignments or tests submitted after the due date without appropriate excuse and pre-approval will receive a zero score.
