COURSE NAME:  CRT LAW115 Introduction to Correction

Course Description (Detailed Syllabus is released upon registration)

Students will learn the essentials of correctional procedures.  Upon completion of this course students will be able to: 1) explain the basic concepts in corrections, penology, and the ethical issues involved, 2) discuss the correctional ideologies from a historical perspective including probation and parole systems, 3) identify various levels of security, inmate cultures that develop, and differences between male, female, and juvenile offenders, and 4) define the military, tribal, international, and public-private ventures in corrections.

Points from:  Lessons, Assignments, Tests, Classroom Discussion, and Course Portfolio are factors in grade point calculation.

A = 90% – 100%, B = 80% – 89%, C = 70% – 79%, D = 60% – 69%, F = 59% and Below.
