COURSE NAME: CRT CTS101 CompTIA Computer Hardware
Course Description (Detailed Syllabus is released upon registration)
Students will learn essentials of CompTIA computer hardware. Upon completion of this course students will be able to: 1) distinguish between common motherboard form factors, explain the functions of key motherboard components, the memory slot types, and the bus architecture functions, 2) describe the function of processor sockets and slots, CPU types and components, ways to reduce the heat generated by CPUs, and the different types of RAM, 3) distinguish between CRT, LCD, and projector technologies, discuss multimedia devices that can be connected to a compute, characteristics of video, multimedia, I/O adapter cards, and 4) outline stylus settings on tablet PCs and distinguish between Windows 2000, XP, and Vista operating systems.

Award Upon Completion
The student will receive three credit hours upon completion of the course.
