COURSE NAME:  CTS104 CompTIA Network Wireless & Routing

Course Description (Detailed Syllabus is released upon registration)

Students will learn the basic principles of CompTIA network wireless & routing.  Upon completion of this course students will be able to: 1) explain the features and characteristics of wireless networks, the roles of various organizations for the development of wireless communication, and the 802.11 standards, 2) describe how TKIP, WPA, WEP, and RADIUS works.,  and how to secure a wireless LAN by switching off beacon broadcasts and changing the network identifiers,  3) distinguish between the uses of different types of antennas, how to install wireless networks and configure frequency and channels, and 4) outline how to configure a wireless network, how to install and troubleshoot wireless network cards,  and the most appropriate wireless network options in a given scenario

Course Grading and Policies

Points from:  Lessons, Assignments, Tests, Classroom Discussion, and Course Portfolio are factors in grade point calculation.

A = 90% – 100%, B = 80% – 89%, C = 70% – 79%, D = 60% – 69%, F = 59% and Below.

Late Assignment Policy: If unable to complete assignments or tests on time, please contact your instructor before the due date.  Assignments or tests submitted after the due date without appropriate excuse and pre-approval will receive a zero score.

Award Upon Completion

The student will receive three credit hours upon completion of the course.
