COURSE NAME: MKT101 Principles of Marketing

Students will learn the principles of marketing. Upon completion of this course students will be able to: 1) define marketing and explain how it creates utility for the customer and its role in the global marketplace, 2) explain why different marketing strategies are designed specifically for products, and discuss distribution and promotion strategies, 3) discuss the importance of avoiding marketing shortsightedness and describe the different characteristics for both profit and non-for-profit marketing, and 4) describe the universal marketing functions, social responsibility, the four Ps: product, price, place, and promotions in effective marketing plan.
